“So you’re an engineer in HR?” That's right. And here’s the scoop I shared with an intern yesterday. My career path has taken a few turns: Engineer → Process Improvement → Change Management. Unconventional, maybe. But here's why it actually makes perfect sense: • I love systems and processes • I love making improvements • Improvements only stick when people adopt new ways of working • Change management is how that happens I never saw this path coming, but I’m glad it unfolded this way. It’s both challenging and deeply rewarding. Engineering taught me how to solve problems. Change management taught me how to implement solutions 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 people. Careers don't always move in straight lines. Mine definitely didn't. 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁? I'd love to hear about it in the comments.
